Once Upon a Mattress - 2022Nordonia Drama returned to the stage with their first fully staged production in three years with Once Upon a Mattress, a fun take on the classic story of the Princess and the Pea.
Once Upon a Mattress ran April 8-10, 2022. Directing Once Upon a Mattress was Nordonia's Director of Drama, Chris Simmons, assisted by Megan Gargano, who also choreographed. Bill Shaffer served as Musical Director, with assistance from Ryan Dulaney. |

2022 Dazzle Awards
Nordonia Drama participated in the 6th Annual Playhouse Square Dazzle Awards presented by Pat and John Chapman.
While our production of Once Upon a Mattress did not receive any nominations, we were still able to participate with this fantastic program throughout the year. We sent students to master classes where they could learn from Broadway professionals, and Hadassah and Alessia performed in the opening and closing numbers of the Dazzle Awards, which were held on Saturday, May 21, 2022 on the Connor Palace stage in Playhouse Square.
During the ceremony, Chris Simmons was honored alongside the directors from all the participating Dazzle schools with a Dazzle Award for being an Arts Champion through the pandemic. He was presented with his award onstage by Hadassah Rayle.
